Tone: The tone of the author is that he’s seriously concerned about the problem that the majority of Biology teachers aren’t teaching their students evidence of evolution; or that some teachers believe that is isn’t an important topic. The author seems to be very frustrated about the fact that some teachers don’t care at all or show no interest about it. Through his giant story, he shows the analogy that at first, the teachers and students cared about education until they didn’t show much enthusiasm about it.

Audience: The author’s intended audience is biology teachers. I know this is true because he his tone shows that he’s concerned about the teachers’ lack of enthusiasm for the subject of evolution. He even shows this through his analogy about the stupid giant and the school system. He shows his frustration towards the teachers as if he could to them all.

Purpose: Other than just to inform, the author’s purpose is to persuade any biology teacher that might read his article to become more enthusiastic about evolution in school, as it is an interesting and important topic. I think he might want to also persuade and excite any science students who read the article to become more interested about evolution and persuade their teachers to teach it to them so they can learn more about it.

In response to Long Spells at Screen Create Health Risk

Tone: The tone of the author is that he is very serious, concerned and anxious about the topic of the article which is that if it is normal for a person over 35 to spend more than 4 hours watching tv or on the computer can double their risk of heart problems. This is a very important topic because it is very common fpr many people to be couch potatoes, and many people have the potential for heart problems.

Audience: The intended audience of the author is to practically everyone because it is just so common for people to spend lots of time watching tv that everyone should know this information. I think anyone who watches any more than normal tv, or especially lazy people to know this because they can be at high risk for health problems. Some other information included is that people who are more active don’t have the high risk, so that could motivate people to exercise more.

Purpose: Other than just to inform people of these facts, the purpose of the author is to persuade people to be more active in their lives to live more healthier lives. They could be persuaded to be more active if they knew this and the risk.

In response to The Energy of an Internet Search

Tone: The author is very concerned because a single internet search on Google or Bing requires a lot of energy and several servers and computers, and we’re leaving a big environmental impact each day with each search.

Audience: The intended audience is directed towards everyone because millions of people use Google or Bing searches every day, and each day, the energy use and environmental impact is huge because after a while with all of the searches, the energy use piles up and so does the use of the source of energy.

Purpose: The purpose of the article is to encourage people to lead more eco friendly lives. They can do that by using their computers less, and use the library more to find information.

In response to: Does the Constitution have a heart for boobies

Tone: The tone tom this article is disappointing but also correcting as a mother would correct a child that it isn’t right that the schools wont let these people support breast cancer victims but it is also scolding people for using them in the wrong way and being vulgar about them.

Audience:The intended audience is probably the parents of theses kids and the administrators of the schools because the administrators are the ones banning it and the parents probably want to know why their kids have gotten in trouble and if they actually did something wrong.

Purpose:  The purpose is to persuade the administrators into letting the kids wear them but also to instruct the kids not to use them incorrectly or inappropriately.
